Face It

She didn’t have a pretty face.
Some would say she had a beautiful mind.
But her mind wasn’t a pretty place,
as she drowns in the tides of her thoughts.

She Built the walls. Built them tall.
No one is allowed inside.
When you have been broken into pieces,
You must learn how to hide.

Her mouth wasn’t pretty, as words kept falling out.
Rapid thoughts that were diluted by clouds of doubt.
Her pondering poured onto paper; the levy had now broke;
Knowing words wouldn’t save her; on her own thoughts she would choke.

Chasing Butterflies

You want the butterflies to come
You welcome them; the flutter
You covet their freedom
You envy the way they fly...

You’re dancing on the ledge
Heart, pulse, breath ...quicken
Your heart jumps before you do
But those butterflies won’t carry you

A strangers eyes bring back the butterflies
You’re back dancing on that ledge
Heart, pulse, breath ...quicken
You can’t always trust your heart
Even when tangled in this cocoon

The butterflies fly away
Catch them if you can
The ever fleeting flutter,
Is how it all began

Passion

PINNED

Your gaze penetrates me long before you do.

You lick your lips and press them to mine;

Your breath is hot on my face

Your hands are tangled in my hair…

PULL

You lick your lips and run them along my neck

to the corners of my mouth…

PAUSE

You put your hand over my mouth and turn me around.

I can feel you against me.

PUSH

How deep can you go?

Go fast, then go slow.

Be gentle. Be Rough. Be Fire.

PASSION

The Not-So-Perfect Storm

Beautiful and Enticing;
Ominous yet Inviting

Lightning flashed in her eyes
She couldn’t make them see it
Her words roared like thunder
Yet went they went unheeded
The storm raged in her veins
She couldn’t make them feel it

Her intensity was too strong
Destruction was not her intent
She didn’t mean to do wrong
Impossible to circumvent

Chase her and be destroyed
Stay clear of her path
A tenacious, fierce wonder
With a ruthless aftermath

All she wanted was to be wild and free
Destruction and chaos were now her legacy
Everyone loves a little bit of rain
But nobody can handle the hurricane
